Frequently Asked Questions

  • All my paintings come with the picture cord already fixed on the back and ready to hang.

Most paintings on board come in a simple, elegant wooden tray frame but the artwork on paper comes in a black frame with glass so they are slightly heavier.

My small format paintings on cradle boards (6 x 6 x 1.5 in / 15 x 15 x 4.5 cm) are not framed but are ready to hang as they are. This is indicated in the description.

  • I enjoy exploring different compositions and some formats enhance a painting more than others for me, that’s why some of my paintings are square, vertical, horizontal, or a narrow horizontal – often called letterbox format.

  • I enjoy working with acrylic paint. It works for me that it dries quickly, doesn’t smell and that brushes can be cleaned in water.

  • Although I have some acrylic paintings on paper available for sale, I paint mostly on board now that I use acrylic paint. Wooden boards, once they are primed, are better at handling layers of paint and retain their shape.

  • I love sketching outside and I will often paint with watercolours and ink outdoors too, but generally I leave my acrylic paints in the studio because I enjoy a light backpack.
